Amazon RSS

Another piece of news everyone pointed to yesterday: Amazon is now offering RSS feeds. A list of all their feeds can be found at the Amazon.com Syndicated Content page. Looks like they're offering feeds for each top-level category in their hierarchy. The next logical step, of course, would be to offer a personalized RSS feed of your recommendations...

What's funny is I bed Chris at Lockergnome is pissed -- he created and distributed Amazon RSS feeds about 6 months ago, at least. The trick was he was making money off them, as he had put lockergnome's Amazon referal code in there, so I'm sure he made a few bucks on that stuff. Now that amazon's doing it themselves, he's probably a bit miffed.

Interesting. Any ideas on how many people were using his feeds?

You can create customized Amazon RSS feeds with a little Web App I wrote to do it, here:

Also, the RSS just uses Amazon Web Services, so you could create your own feeds by learning how their API works.
