Bad, bad day
I may not be posting much this weekend. Today we had to have our oldest cat, Bob, put to sleep. He had a cancerous intenstinal tumor that was inoperable. He was also 12 years old, he lived a long good life; we'd raised him from a kitten so this is especially hard.
...it's like losing a member of the family. He really was the best cat you could ask for. Thankfully I got to be there with him in the end, and bury him.
I'm not functioning all that well right now, good thing it's a long weekend.

I'm so sorry about Bob. I'm getting ready to put down my 11-year-old lab that is my baby. It's so hard, but we have to realize that it's compassionate and kind to help them pass on. Do Bob right, and in time, go to the Humane Society and adopt an unwanted kitten. Maybe a girl, and name her Bobbi, or Bobette. My best to you...

Deepest condolences Jon. We definitely know the feeling. Cats can drive ya nuts (so can kids!) but there's no better unconditional love than a purring ball of fur in the lap;-/ When you're ready, I'm sure you'll go down to the shelter and rescue another loving ball of fur!;-)

That sucks. My wife is horribly allergic to cats, so we don't have any right now, but I've had a bunch in the past that have been members of the family.
My condolences.
