Consider this homework ;-)

616 is the alternative. I won't speak to which one is the most accurate since I don't read ancient Greek and don't have access to the original manuscripts anyway. ;-)

hmm all derivatives of 3
although could there be some foundation at least in christainity?
Revelation 13:18 in the Bible: ``This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six.''
hmm again interesting
"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." [Revelations 13:18]

i did a lot of reading of Thelema when i was younger, and what i got out of it was that 666 was a perverse number because of the aspect of the trinity. 999 was the perfect number. The number of man, reckoned in thelemic terms, is 5. For our senses and our limbs. Also if you read about the early church and the music in it, fifths weren't allowed.
hey its just stuff i read like 12 years ago. Who knows.
